DENVER (AP) – A Denver police officer hit and dragged by a car as he monitored a student Ferguson protest is facing more surgeries. Police said today that Officer John Adsit had a “good night” but was expected to undergo more surgeries during the day. Police say the driver suffered a medical emergency before hitting the officers, who were helping escort hundreds of high school students who walked out of class to protest yesterday.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – A Colorado company plans to build a 140-mile pipeline across northwestern New Mexico that would be capable of carrying 50,000 barrels of crude oil a day. The BLM is considering whether to permit the project by Saddle Butte Pipeline LLC. A public meeting is set for tonight in Lybrook. Industry experts say the San Juan Basin along the New Mexico-Colorado border is on the verge of a shale-oil boom.
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – Next year’s USA Pro Challenge will start in Steamboat Springs and include Arapahoe Basin and Copper Mountain for the first time. Organizers said today that some of the world’s top cyclists will start the race Aug. 17 with a circuit race in Steamboat Springs. They will also pass through Aspen, Breckenridge and Golden before ending in Denver on Aug. 23.
