DENVER (AP) — Supporters of universal health care have gathered enough signatures to put their plan on Colorado ballots next year. Secretary of State Wayne Williams says proponents submitted nearly 159,000 qualified signatures, about 60,000 more than required to put the measure on the ballot.

COLORADO SPRINGS(AP) — Authorities say no one survived the crash of a small plane taking off from the Colorado Springs airport this morning. The private plane crashed near Peterson Air Force Base, setting off a small grass fire. Fire chief Chris Riley says it’s not clear yet how many people were on board or where the plane was headed.

COLORADO SPRINGS (AP) — A federal study has found that most homes destroyed by the 2012 Waldo Canyon fire in Colorado Springs were ignited by other burning homes. A study by the National Institute of Standards and Technology found that 48 homes d were ignited directly by wildfire. Another 296 were ignited by flames from other homes.

ENGLEWOOD(AP) — Denver Broncos star cornerback Aqib Talib was suspended one game without pay for poking Indianapolis tight end Dwayne Allen in his right eye in the waning minutes of Denver’s 27-24 loss to the Colts on Sunday. Talib said afterward he didn’t intend to poke Allen, but was only trying to shove him away from Von Miller.
