ASPEN MAYOR FLYING TO PARIS FOR CLIMATE SUMMIT
ASPEN (AP) — Aspen Mayor Steve Skadron is heading to Paris this week to take part in the global climate change conference, bringing with him the perspective of a town reliant on both snow and luxury. Skadron is flying to France tomorrow to spend six days at and around the U.N. Climate Change Conference.
GJ WOMAN GETS LONG PRISON SENTENCE
GRAND JUNCTION (AP) — A woman who pleaded guilty to the death of a foster baby she was caring for in Grand Junction has been sentenced to 31 years in prison. 21-year-old Sydney White is going to prison for the death of 11-month-old Angel Place last year.
CHARGES IN DEATH OF CAB DRIVER
DENVER (AP) — Prosecutors have charged two young men with killing a Denver cab driver. The Denver DA’s office says Dasean Perry and Nicholas McKinney are each charged with one count of first-degree murder. Investigators say Darren Bloomquist was killed Sept. 5 while picking up a fare near Green Valley Ranch, northeast of Denver. Metro Taxi says he was shot in the head.
OBAMA WEIGHS IN ON C-SPRINGS SHOOTING FROM PARIS
PARIS (AP) — President Barack Obama says he hopes the shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs spurs conversation and action on deterring gun violence. Speaking at a global warming conference in Paris today, Obama says it will ultimately be up to Congress, states and local governments to act in ways that prevent people intent on committing violence from getting weapons.
