GLENWOOD PEDOPHILE PLEADS GUILTY IN FED COURT
Glenwood Springs—One of the most disturbing cases of pedophilia in Garfield County history has come to a close with a Glenwood Springs man headed to prison for a long time. 29 year old Luis Alfonso Aragon Gallegos pled guilty earlier this month in U.S. District Court to production and possession of child pornography. His guilty plea is the culmination of an investigation that began in August of 2014 and led to some shocking discoveries. Initially, Gallegos was suspected of downloading and distributing child porn but it got much worse. He was about to bond out of the Garfield County jail on the child porn charges last March 18th when the Glenwood Springs Police Department brought new charges of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust. Soon after, Aragon’s case was turned over to the FBI. Eventually, federal agents along with local investigators discovered over 100 photos and videos of Gallegos over a four year period with a 3 to 7 year old girl. In addition, authorities seized another 266 thousand photos and over 16 thousand videos of child pornography. Gallegos will be sentenced to federal prison April 20th.
