RIFLE CITY COUNCIL SENDS HUBBARD MESA LETTER TO BLM

Rifle—The Rifle City Council unanimously approved a letter to the Bureau of Land Management regarding plans for Hubbard Mesa.  The mesa, popular with locals and visitors alike for target practice, running, cycling and hiking may have some restrictions imposed under the BLM’s overall management plan for the Roan Plateau.  Several citizens went before the council to express their concerns and to remind them that most of the problems including trash and unsafe shooting are being caused by out-of-towners. 

ANGRY SNOWMASS CHEF  ACCUSED OF THREATENING WAITER WITH KNIFE

Snowmass Village—Chefs can be temperamental, sometimes even violent.  That seems to be the case with a Carbondale man who works at the Lynn Britt Cabin restaurant on Snowmass Mountain.  According to police reports, the chef lost his cool with a waiter for delivering food to the wrong table. The waiter says the chef became enraged and started throwing plates of food at him before approaching slowly with a knife threatening to stab him.  The 32 year old chef was arrested for felony menacing with with a deadly weapon.
