Colorado River Fire Rescue Chief Mike Morgan is moving up in the world of firefighting. The former Rifle Fire Chief and longtime Garfield County resident has been selected as the next Director of the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control. Morgan, who began his firefighting career in 1986, will be replacing current DFPC Director Paul Cooke who is retiring after more than 40 years in fire and emergency services. For over a decade, Morgan served on the Colorado State Fire Chiefs Board of Directors including two terms as President. Following a formal Transfer of Command Ceremony on April 22nd, Morgan will assume his new duties.
