GARCO COMMISSIONER SENDS LETTER TO BLM OVER PLANNING PROCESS
Glenwood Springs—Garfield County Commissioner Tom Jankovsky fears the federal government is gradually stripping local entities’ power to make decisions regarding critical land use issues. Jankovsky presented a letter to the Bureau of Land Management requesting coordination on the Resource Management Planning rules. Jankovsky says the rules would adversely impact a number of land management and wildlife issues. He says a handful of other counties in the Western United States are joining Garfield County’s appeal to the BLM. The deadline for comment is April 25th.
