SECOND MVD ASSAULT VICTIM

Glenwood Springs–The former Mountain Valley Developmental Services caretaker accused of raping a developmentally disabled woman last month in a Glenwood Springs group home, is suspected in at least one other assault. 54 year old Jose Ignacio Echevarria remains behind bars and despite the serious
charges, his bond has been reduced from 100 thousand dollars to 35 thousand.

FIRE AT POPULAR BUTTERMILK CABIN HUMAN CAUSED

Aspen—The fire that destroyed the old Fort Frog cabin on Buttermilk Mountain Sunday night was human
caused according to authorities. Chief Rick Balentine of the Aspen Volunteer Fire Department says it’s
tough to say what caused the fire but arson has been ruled out by the evidence gathered from the scene so far. Jeff Hanle with SkiCo says for decades, Fort Frog was a big hit with kids. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

UNFINISHED CABIN DESTROYED BY FIRE

Dotsero—Fire burned a cabin to the ground that was under construction yesterday in Dotsero. No one was hurt in the early afternoon blaze but according to reports from the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office, two storage trailers and a crane were also destroyed. One witness reported seeing 20-foot flames coming from the unfinished cabin near the Dotsero Mobile Home Park.
