DELAYS IN GW CANYON DUE TO ROCKFALL WORK

C-DOT officials say both directions of I-70 will be closed for 30 minutes to an hour while a helicopter delivers materials needed for the rockfall mitigation project. The closures will take place intermittently between 9am and 2:30 in the afternoon. On the eastbound side, traffic will be stopped a mile and a half east of Shoshone while the westbound side will close just east of the Hanging Lake Tunnel. The mitigation is being done in the area of the massive February 15th rock slide that closed the interstate in both directions for over a week.
