GLENWOOD BANK ROBBER STILL ON THE LOOSE
Glenwood Springs—The man who robbed the Vectra Bank at 8th and Grand late Friday afternoon is still being sought by local and federal authorities. The suspect, a white man wearing a straw hat and big sunglasses, concealed one hand and reportedly told a teller he had a gun. The man made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and in his odd-looking get up, scurried south on foot down Grand Avenue. This was the third Glenwood Springs bank robbery in the last four years. The downtown US Bank was held up in April of 2012 and in June of 2014, a Florida man robbed the West Glenwood Springs Alpine Bank at gunpoint and made off with nearly 19 thousand dollars. 52 year old Jack Lee Wright was eventually caught after a cross-country bank robbing spree.
