DENVER (AP) – Six Colorado ballot measures ranging from presidential primaries to higher tobacco taxes have until the end of business Monday to try to get a place on November ballots. Monday is Colorado’s deadline to turn in some 98,000 signatures for inclusion on ballots.
ASPEN (AP) – Officials near Aspen are concerned about increased all-terrain vehicle traffic in the area. Pitkin County Commissioners say they want to discuss the issue further with city officials.
OGALLALA, Neb. (AP) – A Colorado man has been accused of shooting his wife on a beach at Lake McConaughy (muh-KAH’-nuh-hay) in western Nebraska. Witnesses report the shooting occurred Saturday night while a group of a dozen people or more were partying near Martin Bay. Authorities say the woman was flown to a Colorado hospital and was expected to survive her wound. The man was arrested on suspicion of assault and a weapons crime.
BOULDER (AP) – A 34-year-old Nebraska woman has died after she was hit on a bicycle while taking part in the Ironman Boulder race. The Colorado State Patrol says Michelle Walters, of McCook, Nebraska, was hit by a vehicle while riding on a major highway north of Boulder on Sunday.
