CENTENNIAL (AP) – Attorneys in the Colorado theater shooting case say they are concerned about letting too many potential jurors go as jury selection enters its second week. Prosecutors have asked the judge not to reveal why he releases jurors, for fear of handing out a road map for others trying to avoid serving.

DENVER (AP) – Colorado lawmakers will consider whether to ban powdered alcohol before the product arrives in stores. Alaska, Delaware, Louisiana, South Carolina and Vermont have already banned the product, which is pending approval from federal regulators. A bill to join those states will be considered today in a Colorado House committee.

DENVER (AP) – Democrats want to see finance charges on credit cards from Colorado lenders capped at 12.5 percent, instead of the current 21 percent limit. Sen. Jessie Ulibarri of Commerce City is leading the effort to limit credit-card finance charges. The bill has its first hearing this afternoon in the Senate Business, Labor and Technology Committee.

STEAMBOAT SPRINGS (AP) – A pilot called emergency dispatchers yesterday and said he was injured after his single-engine plane crashed south of the summit of Rabbit Ears Pass. Routt County officials say the pilot asked for a rescue team. The man said he was conscious and breathing and reported back pain. Grand County Search and Rescue teams and members of Routt County Search and Rescue are responding.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK(AP) – Rocky Mountain National Park is celebrating its 100th anniversary today. During its first year, the park drew 31,000 visitors to its forests. Last year, a record 3.4 million people visited the park, one of the National Park Service’s crown jewels.
