UNDATED (AP) – Crews across the state are installing 80 new stand-alone “live view” cameras as part of a $1.1 million project to improve the Colorado Department of Transportation’s traveler communication network. The Denver Post reports the cameras will either add to or replace some of 422 cameras that are already in place along roadways throughout Colorado. The camera views will be available on CDOT’s traveler information site.
FRISCO (AP) – A 65-year-old man who accidentally fell 20 feet while hiking Mount Royal in Frisco has died. The Summit Daily News reports Michael Roberts suffered a severe brain injury when he fell Oct. 19. Roberts was taken off life support and died Nov. 7.
GREELEY (AP) – An accident at a fracking well site in northern Colorado has killed one worker and seriously injured two others. The three men were trying to heat a high-pressure water line when the line ruptured. The Weld County Sheriff’s office says a man was killed when he was hit by a stream of water or fracking fluid.
BOULDER (AP) – Boulder County is extending a ban on new oil and gas development in unincorporated parts of the county. The moratorium had been set to end on Jan. 1 but county commissioners voted today to continue it for another 3 1/2 years. A final vote on the issue will come in a few weeks.
