GLENWOOD NATIVE NAMED NEW MAYOR

Glenwood Springs—With a 4 to 3 vote, the Glenwood Springs City Council appointed Mike Gamba as the new mayorlast night. The vote came after a few minutes of respectful discussion and other nominations. Todd Leahy, who like Gamba, ran unopposed for re-election, nominated Gamba. Leahy was voted to become the maoyr pro-tem by the same count. Councilman Stephen Bershenyi was nominated for mayor by Matt Steckler.

APRIL 17TH DECLARED HANK BOSCO DAY

Glenwood Springs—Today is Hank Bosco Day in Glenwood Springs. The official declaration was made last night in front of a packed house at the Glenwood Springs City Hall council chambers. The 92 year old Glenwood Springs native and local legend is credited with putting the Hot Springs Pool on the global tourism map after taking over as manager in 1976. The Glenwood Springs High School and University of Colorado graduate also served in the U.S Army during World War II as a rifleman in the 70th Infantry in Europe. Henry Bosco also served on the city council, the planning and zoning commission and is in the Colorado Business Hall of Fame, the Italian American Hall of Fame and was named the Citizen of the Year in 2006 by the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association.
