BASALT—A Basalt woman was killed early this morning after being hit by a pickup truck on Highway 82 near Willits. The name of the 53 year old woman has not been released by the Colorado State Patrol pending notification of relatives, According to CSP reports, the woman was standing in the right lane of up valley 82, staring into oncoming traffic when she was hit by an older model Ford Ranger around 2am. The driver, 52 year old Dawn Miller of Carbondale, managed to pull over to the right shoulder after the impact….she was not hurt. Both lanes of up valley Highway 82 were closed for about seven hours.
COLORADO REC WEED SALES DOWN IN MAY
Undated—Less recreational weed was sold during the month of May in Colorado compared to April. According to tax collection reports from the state Department of Revenue, about 21 million dollars of recreational pot sold. The newly phased in weed taxes however went from 734 thousand dollars in April to just over a million in May.
