Rifle–Oil and gas companies are responsible for leaving the land as they found it after drilling. Encana Oil and Gas Land Architect Bryan Whiteley will talk about reclamation rules and regulations for drilling sites at tonight’s Garfield County Energy Advisory Board meeting in Rifle. The meeting will be held at the Rifle Library from 5:30 to 8.

Washington, D.C.–By one vote, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives approved a bill to strip a 25 million dollar subsidy from an appropriations bill. The measure was co-sponsored by Colorado Democrat Jared Polis.

Glenwood Springs–The British man accused of murdering his wife in 1997 and dumping her body in a remote area of Garfield County may make a confession as part of a plea deal. The arraignment of 49 year old Marcus Bebb-Jones continues today in Garfield County District Court.

Denver–The visitation rights of foster parents in Colorado is being considered today by the state supreme court. Advocacy groups say foster parents should be allowed to continue the relationship with children.
