Glenwood Springs–A former Colorado State Senator is one of the five finalists named for the Garfield County Manager’s job. The other candidates include two county government professionals from New Mexico, a Finance specialist from Oklahoma and a government consultant from Kansas.

Glenwood Springs–The Garfield County Board of Commissioners sent a letter today to the Bureau of Land Management criticizing the effort to add protections to the Greater Sage Grouse.

Silt–The Garfield County Coroner’s office identified the woman who was hit and killed by a passenger train near Silt last Saturday afternoon. 27 year old Ashley Nicole Vale of Silt was walking along the tracks when she was hit by a westbound Amtrack train.

Carbondale–Stacey Stein and Jim Breasted have decided to drop out of the Carbondale town trustees’ race. Eight candidates are still campaigning for the three open seats on the town board. Election day is April 3rd.
