The Roaring Fork School District has confirmed that it has closed all it’s high schools and sent staff home today due to what is being called an anonymous online threat.
This includes Glenwood Springs, Roaring Fork, Basalt and Bridges high schools. As a matter of protocol, Yampah Mountain High School has also cancelled classes.
Elementary and Middle Schools in the district are currently on “lockout,” meaning doors are locked, staff is on high alert and no one is allowed into the buildings.
The Early Childhood Education Center is reportedly also closed today. Private schools in the area are apparently not affected.
