Rifle I-70 Traffic Fatality

*****7/28/16 4:40 PM Update:  Garfield County Coroner Robert Glassmier identified the victim in Wednesday’s crash as 39 year old Daniel Jacob Kobrin of Glenwood Springs.  Glassmire says Kobrin was born and raised in Crested Butte and had recently lived in Portland, Oregon.  Toxicology tests will be conducted over the next several weeks.

Authorities say that a man was killed just before 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon after his car rolled over on I-70 near Rifle, just behind the local Wal-Mart store.
Investigators are still working to piece together the details of the accident, but early reports indicate that the driver was ejected from the vehicle. Eastbound I-70 was closed for about an hour.
Rifle Police, Colorado State Patrol, and CDOT crews all responded to the scene while Garfield County Sheriff’s deputies helped handle the daily rush-hour highway traffic. Authorities have not yet determined what caused the accident.
