Roaring Fork Schools To Host Next Series of Community Visioning Meetings

Building on the enthusiasm started during last fall’s community visioning process and to keep the community engaged, Roaring Fork Schools is asking the local community for its continued participation in the next steps of its community-wide visioning and strategic planning process. From March 11-13 the district is hosting a series of meetings in Basalt, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs.

“The input and ideas we received from October’s visioning conversations energized us with a strong focus and new sense of purpose,” said Superintendent Diana Sirko.  “We are about to ramp up the process even more.  We have been hard at work developing the next steps and are very excited to share with each of our communities the progress we have made so far.  But equally as important, we also want to ensure we are on the right track as we take their thoughts and priorities and turn them into actions to make the vision a reality for our schools.”

Each meeting’s format will be similar to the meetings held in the fall and will be facilitated by The Civic Canopy. Participants will once again engage in an active dialogue through both large and small group formats around the themes of academic performance, student character development, teacher/talent development, and parent and community engagement in our schools and district.

Each meeting will discuss the following:

  1.    <!–[endif]–>Review the mission statement and commitments and alignment with the hopes and desires for our schools expressed in the fall meetings.
  2. <!–[endif]–>Consider the components of the strategic plan and the work done so far to make sure we are on the right track.
  3. <!–[endif]–>Discuss opportunities for further ongoing community engagement at our schools.

Meetings will take place on the following dates at the following locations:
