Ski Company Competition Increases

ASPEN (AP) – As competition among ski companies heats up, information about what they pay to use public land is diminishing. The U.S. Forest Service reversed its policy on releasing permit fees paid by individual ski areas after Vail Resorts objected. Vail and others in the industry argue that the fees they pay are trade secrets. The Forest Service agreed and now releases only aggregate information about fees.
