HOUSTON (AP) – With Stephen (STEH’-fehn) Curry watching from the bench with an injured ankle, the Golden State Warriors were beaten by the Rockets in Houston last night 97-96. James Harden hit a jumper with 2.7 seconds remaining to give the Rockets the win and a series deficit now of 2-1.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) – Tampa Bay is the first team to advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Playing on home ice, the Lightning beat the Red Wings 1-0 to eliminate Detroit in five games. Alex Killorn scored with 1:43 remaining to give Tampa the win.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) – Qualifying for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race is taking place this afternoon at Richmond International Speedway.
