GLENWOOD SPRINGS—Three people managed to escape a house fire unharmed in West Glenwood Springs two nights ago. According to reports from the Glenwood Springs Fire Department, a fire started on the third floor of a house on Mountain Shadow Drive around 7:30 Wednesday night. The 911 call was made at 7:48. Crews arrived within six minutes and found heavy smoke coming from a bedroom window. Crews with Glenwood, Carbondale and Colorado River Fire Rescue battled through intense heat and low visibility as they made their way to the top floor. The fire was contained to the bedroom but tens of thousands of dollars in damage was caused to the entire third floor of the home due to fire, smoke and water. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
