Glenwood Springs—Stubler Memorial Field will be packed this Sunday at Glenwood Springs High School as family, friends and community members honor the life of legendary, Hall of Fame Football Coach Don Miller. Miller died this past Monday at the age of 79. Miller retired in 1995 with 204 victories that included the Glenwood Demons’ state championships in 1978 and 1980. Miller was known as a fierce competitor who loved his players but was tough and always demanded maximum effort. Miller’s influence on his players, the school, the city of Glenwood Springs and Colorado high school sports in general are immeasurable. Those attending his memorial however will get a glimpse into how much of an impact Coach Don Miller really had. The memorial begins at 10:30 Sunday morning at the stadium where he led so many young men to victory and is on the little street that bears his name, Coach Miller Drive.
