Rifle–Rifle sophomore Taylor Walters shot a 15 over par 86 on the final day of the girl’s State High School golf tournament in Pueblo. Walters capped off the year with a 30th place finish. She took 20th during her freshman campaign and says she’s looking forward to practicing and playing in tournaments this summer to improve her game.

Denver–The Colorado Rockies split a doubleheader with the Arizona Diamondbacks at Coors Field. The Rockies won the afternoon opener 12 to 4 but lost the nightcap, 5 to 2. The game one win was costly as starting lefty Jorge De la Rosa injured the elbow on his throwing arm and will require season-ending Tommy John surgery.

Miami–The Miami Heat took a commanding 3 to 1 lead over the Chicago Bulls with last night’s 101-93 overtime win in South Beach. Lebron James led the Heat with 35 points.

Vancouver, British Columbia–For the first time since 1994, the Vancouver Canucks are in the Stanley Cup finals thanks to last night’s game 6, 3-2 double-overtime victory over the San Jose Sharks in the Western Conference championship. The Canucks will take on the winner of the Boston / Tampa Bay series.
