FORT COLLINS — In a twist of irony that might, with time, be some consolation, the teams that put Rifle and Roaring Fork into that ill-named bracket, both reached Saturday’s 3A title games against three-time defending champs at CSU’s Moby Gym.
Eaton, which defeated the Lady Bears 50-34 to reach the Final Four, edged the tourney’s other undefeated team, Pagosa Springs, 36-33 and will face Holy Family Saturday.
Jefferson Academy continued to get past higher-seeded opponents, first by beating undefeated Colorado Springs Christian in the Sweet 16, then Roaring Fork, 48-44 with a come-from-behind win Thursday, and a decisive 52-38 victory over no. 3 Valley, putting the Jaguars (19-7) against Faith Christian in the boys’ final Saturday.
