GLENWOOD BOYS BASKETBALL COACH MOVING ON
Glenwood Springs—Glenwood Demons boy’s basketball coach Cory Hitchcock is moving on. After a successful five year run that included two league championships, Hitchcock is headed to Missouri Valley College to be an assistant women’s basketball coach. Missouri Valley is an NAIA Division 1 school in the city of Marshall. Hitchcock leaves after his best season roaming the sidelines as the Demons finished atop the Western Slope 4A with a 14 and 0 record.
GLENWOOD GECKOS SWEEP GJ AT SUPLEZIO
Grand Junction—The Glenwood Geckos continue to climb in the standings of the Mountain West Summer Collegiate Baseball League after Tuesday’s doubleheader sweep of the Grand Junction Rocky Mountain Oysters. The Geckos took the first game 7 to 5 and held off the Oysters in the nightcap, 9 to 7. The Geckos are now in second place, two games behind Grand Junction with a 13 and 13 record. Glenwood travels to Frisco to take on the Summit Black Diamonds tomorrow then will close out the regular season Saturday at home against the Vail Vipers at noon and 2.
The league tournament will be played the 14th through the 18th.
