Denver—The Denver Broncos closed out the pre season last night at home with a lackluster performance and a 22-20 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The Broncos open up the regular season next Sunday, the 13th at home against the Baltimore Ravens.

Honolulu, Hawaii—The CU Buffs fell to the University of Hawaii before a paltry crowd of 19 thousand at Aloha Stadium, 28 to 20.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – Running back Devontae Booker had 124 combined yards and a touchdown and Utah spoiled Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan coaching debut, beating the Wolverines 24-17 last night. Harbaugh faced many of the same issues the Wolverines had under former coach Brady Hoke (HOHK) after moving to Michigan from the San Francisco 49ers.
UNDATED (AP) – There are three games in Top-25 action this evening. The highest ranked school with a contest is fourth ranked Baylor as the Bears are at SMU. The ranking is the highest ever for the Bears, who will be without defensive end Shawn Oakman and safety Orion Stewart who were suspended for the game after violating unspecified team rules. Both were All-Big 12 selections last season. Fifth-ranked Michigan State opens its season against in-state opponent Western Michigan of the Mid-American Conference, and 23rd-ranked Boise State is playing host to Washington’s Huskies.
MILWAUKEE (AP)- Taylor Jungmann pitched six strong innings and the Milwaukee Brewers finished a three-game sweep of Pittsburgh 5-3, beating the Pirates for the sixth straight time. The loss dropped the Pirates 6 1/2 games behind the NL Central-leading Cardinals.
NEW YORK (AP)- The defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots have their first victory of the 2015 season. A judge overturned star quarterback Tom Brady’s four-game suspension, allowing him to play in the season opener next Thursday night against Pittsburgh. The NFL says it will appeal the matter known as “Deflategate.”
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – Tom Brady was not in uniform last night for the New England Patriots’ final preseason game, a 12-9 loss to the New York Giants. Several fans chanted “BRADY, BRADY,” when the team came out of the locker room into the bowl of the stadium, but the quarterback was nowhere to be seen.
