College Basketball Tournament Results

Las Vegas, NV—The Colorado Buffaloes lost to 15th ranked Arizona 82-78 in quarterfinal action. Number 8 Oregon defeated Washington 83-77.  12th ranked Utah upended USC 80-72.  24th ranked Cal defeated Oregon State 76-68. In a Mountain West Conference Tournament upset, the CSU Rams shocked the Boise State Broncos 88-81.

The Denver Nuggets beat the Phoenix Suns last night at the Pepsi Center 116-98.

UNDATED (AP) – Today is another busy day of play in major college basketball with semifinal and quarterfinal games in all the big conferences. Kansas, the top team in the AP poll, has a Big 12 semifinal game in Kansas City, Missouri, with 22nd-ranked Baylor, while second-ranked Michigan State has a Big Ten quarterfinal game in Indianapolis with Ohio State.

AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) – The field will be set later today for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway. This is the fourth race of the 2016 season with a different winner in each event. The winner of this race a year ago was Kevin Harvick.

PALM HARBOR, Fla. (AP) – Second-round play is on tap today in the PGA’s Valspar Championship in Florida. The defending champion, Jordan Spieth (speeth), is in danger of missing the cut after opening with a 5-over 76. The first-round lead was held by Keegan Bradley, Ken Duke and Charles Howell III at 4-under.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) – Despite the great success the Golden State Warriors are enjoying, they now only have a three-game lead in the NBA’s Western Conference. The San Antonio Spurs just won’t go away. Last night they improved to 55-10 with a win over visiting Chicago.
