COLORADO HIGH SCHOOL TRACK AND FIELD STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Lakewood—Rifle High School’s Joe Kosht stood on the medal winner’s podium this morning after taking 9th place in the boy’s 4A shot put competition at Jefferson County Stadium in Lakewood. The Bear’s Senior had a toss of 46 feet, 8 and a half inches, just shy of his personal best of 47-1. Kosht hopes for another podium appearance this Saturday when he competes in the discus. 3A schools will take over the stadium this afternoon and tonight with athletes from Coal Ridge, Basalt, Grand Valley, Roaring Fork and Aspen competing in a variety of events. KMTS will be on hand with live coverage and updates Friday and Saturday from Jeffco Stadium.
COAL RIDGE LADY TITANS VIE FOR FINAL FOUR BERTH
Westminster—The Coal Ridge Lady Titans take on the Academy Wildcats tonight at 7 in an Elite 8 match. With a victory, Coal Ridge will play a final four game this Saturday.
BOYS 4A STATE SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS
THORNTON—Four student-athletes from Glenwood Springs High School will be competing this weekend in the Boy’s 4A State Swim and Dive Championships at the Veteran’s Memorial Aquatics Center in Thornton; Phillip Hecksel, Zeb Thorson, Jonas Ortega and Cole Peterson.
