Houston, TX–The Denver Nuggets helped their playoff chances with last night’s 105-102 win over the Rockets in Houston.

LEXINGTON (AP) – Kentucky’s college basketball player of the
year is set to announce today that he’s leaving school after just
one season and making himself available for June’s NBA draft.
Anthony Davis is expected to be joined by four other underclassmen
from the Wildcats’ NCAA championship team.

UNDATED (AP) – The three roads teams won last night’s NHL
playoff games to grab a 2-1 lead in their respective best-of-seven
opening-round series. The New York Rangers nipped the Ottawa
Senators 1-zip, the Boston Bruins slipped past the Washington
Capitals 4-3 and the St. Louis Blues topped the San Jose Sharks
4-3.

UNDATED (AP) – Just eight percentage points separate the San
Antonio and second-place Oklahoma City in the race for the top seed
in the NBA’s Western Conference playoffs after last night’s
results. The Spurs dumped Golden State 120-99 for their third
straight win while the Thunder was absorbing a 92-77 loss to the
Clippers down the California coast in Los Angeles.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Giants right-hander Tim Lincecum
(LINZ’-ih-kuhm) settled down after giving up four first-inning runs
to the Phillies, but by then, the damage had been done.
Philadelphia went on to post a 5-2 victory at San Francisco behind
their ace, Roy Halladay.

MONACO (AP) – Third-seeded Andy Murray has moved through to the
third round of the Monte Carlo Masters with a 6-love, 6-3 win over
Serbia’s Viktor Troicki. The top players in the world are on hand
to begin their clay-court preparation for next month’s French Open.
Spain’s Rafael Nadal is the seven-time defending champion.
