ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) – The Denver Broncos traded out of the
first round of the NFL draft Thursday night.
The Broncos owned the 25th overall selection and traded down
twice, leaving them without a first-rounder for the first time
since 2005. The Broncos initially traded down six spots, acquiring the 31st
overall pick and a fourth-rounder (No. 126 overall) from New
England for the 25th selection. Then, they sent both of those picks to Tampa Bay for the Buccaneers’ second-rounder, No. 36 overall, and the 101st
selection, in the fourth round. So, the Broncos will be picking fourth when the draft resumes Friday night.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – JaVale McGee scored 19 points to help the
Denver Nuggets lock down the sixth seed in the Western Conference
playoffs with a 131-102 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on
Thursday night. Arron Afflalo scored 18 points and Danilo Gallinari had 17
points for the Nuggets, who won their fourth straight game and
eighth in their last 10 as they surge into the postseason.
The Nuggets will face the third-seeded Los Angeles Lakers in the
first round.

been working for the Chicago White Sox since 1999.

NEW YORK (AP) – Day two of the three-day NFL draft is tonight in
New York as the teams continue their scrutiny of the top players in

be on the clock, unless they pull off another trade.

PHOENIX (AP) – In the lone NHL playoff game tonight the Phoenix
Coyotes will host Nashville. This is the opening game of their
best-of-seven Western Conference semifinal. The Predators and
Coyotes split their four games during the season.

NEW YORK (AP) – Detroit Tigers Left fielder Delmon Young was
arrested early this morning on a hate crime assault charge in New
York City. Police say he attacked a group of men and yelled
anti-Semitic epithets. The incident took place not far from Times
Square and involved a group of four Chicago tourists, a panhandler
wearing a yarmulke and a Star of David around his neck, and Young.
It’s not clear who he was yelling at but he got into a tussle with
the Chicago group.
