Grand Valley shutout Rangely 5 to nothing. Roaring Fork got past Rifle 3 to 1 while Coal Ridge and Vail Mountain School kicked to a 1-1 tie.
WOMEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL
Denver–40 and 0. It’s the first time in college basketball history a team hjas finished a season with that record. Last night at the Pepsi Center, the Baylor Bears did just that, defeating Notre Dame in the national championship game 80 to 61.

MIAMI (AP) – Miami’s Heat are back in the playoffs. The team led
by LeBron James earned a berth in the post season by beating
Philadelphia last night 99-93. James led the way with a season-high
41 points. The Heat have won 16 straight home games.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) – The New York Rangers clinched the top seed
in the Eastern Conference playoffs last night as they beat
Philadelphia 5-3. The win was the sixth in six games this season
for the Rangers over the Flyers, marking the first time in 40 years
that has happened.
MIAMI (AP) – The 2012 Major League Baseball season gets going in
this country tonight as Miami plays host to St. Louis. You might
recall that the opening games of the season were played in Japan
last week when Seattle took on Oakland. The game marks the debut of
the Marlins new stadium and is the first game for the Cardinals
since winning the World Series last fall.
AUGUST, Ga. (AP) – Play in the Masters starts tomorrow in
Augusta, Ga. Today marks the final day of practice as well as the
annual par-3 contest, which will feature Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus
and Arnold Palmer in the nine-hole affair.
