DECKER A JET

NEW YORK (AP) – The New York Jets have agreed to terms with former Denver Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker, considered by many the top free agent at his position. Decker spent all day yesterday at the Jets’ facility and had dinner with team officials, including coach Rex Ryan. Decker set career highs last season catching passes from Peyton Manning with 87 catches and 1,288 yards receiving to go along with 11 touchdowns.

NUGGETS BEAT MAGIC

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – Kenneth Faried scored 26 points and Wilson Chandler added 21 points and 10 rebounds to rally the Denver Nuggets to a 120-112 win over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night.

AVS ICE HAWKS

DENVER (AP) – Semyon Varlamov stopped 37 shots for his 100th NHL win and Brad Malone scored his first goal of the season, helping the Colorado Avalanche hold off the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 on Wednesday night.
Matt Duchene and Ryan O’Reilly added goals as the Avalanche took four of five from the Blackhawks in the season series. They also moved a point ahead of the defending Stanley Cup champions for second place in the Central Division.

BUFFS EDGE TROJANS

LAS VEGAS (AP) – Askia Booker scored 21 points and keyed a late run, leading Colorado to a 59-56 win over scrappy Southern California in the opening round of the Pac-12 tournament on Wednesday.
Their NCAA tournament hopes still up in the air, the Buffaloes could not afford a loss to the last-place Trojans.
Despite beating USC twice during the regular season, Colorado (22-10) had a hard time shaking the Trojans, unable to get much separation until going on a 13-1 run late in the second half.
