HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL
The Glenwood Demons host Middle Park, Steamboat Sprngs and Hotchkiss for a tournament today and tomorrow. Rifle takes on Basalt this afternoon at Cooper Field. Game time is set for 3.
Tomorrow, three doubleheaders begin at 11 o’clock including Basalt at Coal Ridge, Gunnison at Grand Valley and Roaring Fork at Cedaredge.
TRACK AND FIELD
Scores of athletes will brave the chilly temperatures tomorrow at Bear’s Stadium for the Rifle Invitational Meet. Glenwood Springs, Grand Valley, Roaring Fork and Coal Ridge will be competing. The meet begins at 9am.

St. Paul, Minn–The Avalanche lost to the Minnesota Wild last night 5 to 2.
COLLEGE BASKETBALL
The Colorado Buffaloes lost to the Arizona Wildcats last night in the Pac-12 tournament in Las Vegas, 79-69. The Buffs, who won the inagural tournament last year, can now only hope to get an invitation to the Big Dance from the NCAA.

MILWAUKEE (AP) – Miami is looking for its 21st straight win tonight with a game against the Bucks in Milwaukee. Only three teams in NBA history have had a 20-game winning streak or more in the same season, with the longest being the Lakers’ 33-game streak in the 1971-1972 season.
DENVER (AP) – Lost in the shuffle of Miami’s 20-game winning streak is Denver’s 10 straight wins. The Nuggets, who are 44-22, are home this evening to the Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizz, by the way, enter the game with a six-game winning streak.
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (AP) – The opening round of the Champions Tour Toshiba Classic is taking place today. A year ago Loren Roberts finished first, by two strokes over Bernhard Langer (LAHN’-gur), Mark Calcavecchia (kal-kuh-VEHK’-ee-ah) and Tom Kite.
BRISTOL, Tenn. (AP) – Sunday’s NASCAR race will be contested in Bristol, Tenn., and on tap this afternoon is the qualifying for the pole. This is the fourth race of the season and Jimmie Johnson, the winner of the Daytona 500, leads the point’s standings.
