3A Districts
Carbondale–The Roaring Fork girls and boys swept the Coal Ridge Titans last night in Carbondale. The Lady Rams won 54-40 while the boy’s took the nightcap 58-51. The Lady Rams will play top-seeded Moffat County this afternoon at 3 in a semi final game at Palisade High School. The boy’s semi final has the Number 1 Rams taking on Basalt at 4:45. The Aspen Skiers boy’s team knocked off Cedareged 66-38 and will play Moffat County tonight at 8:15 in the other semi final. On the girl’s side, Olathe and Grand Valley will battle at 6:30.
4A State Playoffs
Jefferson County–The Glenwood Lady Demons are on the road tonight facing the top-seeded Jaguars of D’Evelyn at 6 o’clock in Jefferson County. The game will be broadcast live on KMTS.
Montrose–The 6th seeded Rifle Lady Bears battle number 3 Palmer Ridge tonight at 7:30 at Montrose High School.

Denver–The Denver Nuggets host Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder tonight at the Pepsi Center.

Denver–The Avs rallied for 3, third period goals to beat the visiting Calgary Flames last night 4 to 3.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) – Virginia celebrated the 11th anniversary of its last win over a top 5 team last night — by doing it again. Joe Harris poured in a career-high 36 points as the Cavaliers surprised No. 3 Duke in Charlottesville 73-68. Fans stormed the court as Virginia won its 16th consecutive home game.
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – The Los Angeles Clippers have won seven of their last eight games after a 99-91 decision at Indianapolis last night. Chris Paul paced the Clippers with 29 points and Blake Griffin contributed 18 points and 14 rebounds in the victory. The Pacers were without center Roy Hibbert, who was serving a one-game suspension for his role in a fight against Golden State this week.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson has revealed a plan to keep the NBA’s Kings in town. It was announced last night that 24 Hour Fitness founder Mark Mastrov will submit a bid to buy the team to the NBA today. Pittsburgh Penguins co-owner Ron Burkle will lead the effort to build a new downtown arena that he hopes will also lure back a WNBA franchise to Sacramento.
ST. LOUIS (AP) – Chicago goalie Corey Crawford left the game in the first period with an injury but it didn’t matter to the red-hot Blackhawks, who blanked the Blues 3-0 in St. Louis. Ray Emery came on and made 15 saves over the final two periods for Chicago, which extended its NHL-record season-opening points streak to 20 games.
TAICHUNG, Taiwan (AP) – The World Baseball Classic gets under way tonight (U.S. time) with a preliminary-round game between host Taiwan against Australia. The teams are from Group B which also includes favorite South Korea and the Netherlands. The United States is in Group D and doesn’t play its first game until Thursday when it takes on Mexico in Phoenix.
