The Glenwood Lady Demons lost to Battle Mountain last night 3 to 1. Glenwood will play for third place in the Western Slope tomorrow night at 5 at CMC’s Spring Valley campus. Battle Mountain earned an automatic birth into the 4A playoffs.
In 3A soccer, the Coal Ridge Lady Titans beat Roaring Fork 3 to 1 to improve to 9 and 0 in the Western Slope, 14 and 1 overall.

The Basalt Longhorns doubled up Roaring Fork 4 to 2 to improve to 12 and 0 on the season.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Hyun-Jin Ryu struck out 12 in six innings, Hanley Ramirez homered in his first start of the season and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 6-2 on Tuesday night. The Rockies got an early jump on Ryu (3-1) when Carlos Gonzalez hit a solo home run in the first inning, but the lead didn’t last long.
The Dodgers scored two runs in each of the first three innings, with six different players driving in runs.Matt Kemp had a run-scoring single and Adrian Gonzalez added a sacrifice fly in the first. Jerry Hairston and Nick Punto hit RBI singles in the second inning, while Ramirez and Ryu each drove in a run in the third. All six runs came at the expense of Rockies starter Jorge De La Rosa (2-3), who is now 0-8 in his career against the Dodgers.

DENVER (AP) – Kenneth Faried brought the energy and the Denver Nuggets rediscovered their toughness in time to stave off elimination Tuesday night with a 107-100 win over the Golden State Warriors. The Nuggets slowed down Golden State’s guards, jumpstarted their transition game and got under Andrew Bogut’s skin in Game 5, jumping out to a 22-point lead before weathering the Warriors’ frenetic fourth quarter rally.
Game 6 is Thursday night in Oakland. Golden State leads the series 3-2.
