BRONCOS BEAT CHIEFS, TIED FOR FIRST IN AFC WEST
DENVER (AP) – Peyton Manning went virtually untouched by Kansas City’s sack-happy defense Sunday night, throwing for 323 yards and a touchdown to lead the Denver Broncos to a 27-17 victory over the NFL’s last undefeated team. The Broncos tied Kansas City at 9-1 atop the AFC West with a rematch set in two weeks.
DEL RIO INTERVIEWS FOR HEAD COACHING JOB AT USC
DENVER (AP) – Broncos have confirmed that interim head coach Jack Del Rio interviewed for the head coaching job at Southern California, his alma mater, during Denver’s bye week.Fox Sports first reported Del Rio’s interview with USC.
USC Athletic Director Pat Haden reached out to Broncos executive vice president John Elway for permission to speak with Denver’s defensive coordinator at a time that was convenient for the Broncos.Del Rio interviewed for the Trojans’ job Nov. 1.
The next day, Broncos coach John Fox fell ill while golfing in North Carolina and his doctors determined he needed to move up his scheduled heart surgery. Del Rio was promoted to interim head coach of the Broncos and won his debut last week at San Diego.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – Marek Olesinski scored 20, shooting 70 percent (7 of 10) for the game and going 6 of 8 from three point range, to spark a 67-64 Air Force win over the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff on Sunday.
D.U. FALLS TO STANFORD
DENVER (AP) – Chasson Randle scored 14 of his game-high 29 points in the second half leading Stanford to a 66-57 victory over Denver on Sunday.Randle was 10-for-14 shooting. Anthony Brown added 12 points for Stanford (3-1) which recovered from a poor shooting first half to shoot 52 percent in the second half.

(AP) – Miami Dolphins players have been advised they’ll meet this week with the NFL special investigator looking into the harassment case involving tackle Jonathan Martin and guard Richie Incognito. Players expect to be interviewed beginning today, and the visit by attorney Ted Wells might last several days.
HOMESTEAD, Fla. (AP) – Jimmie Johnson is NASCAR’s top driver for the sixth time in eight years. Johnson’s ninth-place finish at Homestead-Miami Speedway was good enough for him to clinch the Sprint Cup title by 19 points over Matt Kenseth.
LONDON (AP) – Lance Armstrong claims former UCI president Hein Verbuggen instigated a cover-up of his doping at the 1999 Tour de France. Armstrong tells Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper that Verbruggen insisted “we’ve got to come up with something” to explain his positive tests for a banned corticosteroid.
