Rifle swept Moffat County in three games. Coal Ridge took care of Grand Valley in three as did Roaring Fork in a match with Palisade.

The Glenwood Demons are back on the gridiron tonight after a two week layoff. The Demons welcome the 3rd ranked Palisade Bulldogs to Stubler Memorial Field for the Western Slope League opener. PGA champion Rory McIlroy headed up a quartet of young golfers tied for the lead after matching 8-under-par 64s on day one at Crooked Stick. WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) – They finished up the rain-interrupted and darkness-suspended opening round of the Kingsmill Championship this morning and overnight leader Jiyai Shin (jee-eye shihn) is still atop the leaderboard. The South Korean fired a 9-under-par 62 yesterday.
LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) – Texas Tech basketball coach Billy Gillispie has been discharged from the hospital after a six-day stay. Gillispie was hospitalized after the university announced an investigation into his alleged mistreatment of players.
